Wells Cargo
Everyone who owns “toys” knows that many of us use enclosed trailers to haul the fun stuff to our favorite riding areas. It’s been a while since we have covered enclosed trailers in ToyHauler, so we thought we would go with one of the most iconic names in the industry, Wells Cargo. Maynard W. Wells first introduced Wells Cargo trailers in 1954, (that’s 55 years ago for those of you counting) with one goal in mind: building quality trailers that would stand the test of time. Fast forward about a decade and Maynard’s son Jeffery Wells would take over the day-to-day management of the company and up the ante on quality, building trailers that would last for over 15 years of daily use. In addition, they would begin to build trailers for every possible need with sizes ranging from 6 feet to 48 feet in length.
To meet the needs of the entire nation, Wells Cargo would ultimately operate six factories across the U.S., building around 200 different models of trailers. As a manufacturer, they serve both the commercial and the recreational markets. Today, Wells Cargo is the umbrella entity under which five individual brands are manufactured, each with its own target customers.
Just like there are a wide variety of trailer users--everything from everyday heavy industrial use to the casual weekend warrior--there are many Wells Cargo brands to choose from. The first and most well-known brand is the Wells Cargo line. The Wells Cargo line is quality driven and geared toward the commercial market where long-lasting durability and dependable daily service are expected.
The Road Force line is their mid-range brand and combines a great mix of quality and value. The TC Trecker brand is for the entry-level trailer user who has lighter duty requirements, and the Motor Trac brand is specifically designed for the Racing Market. Lastly, their newest line, Silver Sport, is an all-aluminum frame trailer that boasts two models for hauling snowmobiles and motorcycles. It is evident, with their impressive line-up of models and strategically located manufacturing facilities, Wells Cargo is well positioned to continue their standing as the market leader in 2009 and beyond.
It is also important to point out that if you should have any problem with a Wells Cargo brand there are hundreds of dealers across the nation to meet your needs. So whether you tow your toys around town or across the states, you have peace of mind knowing a Wells Cargo dealer is never far away.
