KZ's MXT
It's not too often that we get to see a bumper pull a toyhauler that is a completely different concept from other units on the market. However the KZ MXT is just that. These rigs are designed to be lightweight and easy to tow, so we will start with the outside where the first thing you notice is the rounded-nose body style. This creates a streamlined look and helps with the aerodynamics for towing.

Another new feature is the partial body paint on the MXT. Although the cover model has the super hot, lightning bolt full body paint, you can choose the partial paint concept which looks fantastic.

Walking around to the rear of the trailer you quickly notice the different ramp concept used by KZ. The unit has a “hatch” that lifts up as well as a ramp that folds down. There are a couple of good ideas at work here. The first is when the hatch is closed, you have a finished wall at the rear of the trailer instead of looking at a ramp; the second is when the hatch is up, it will offer extra shade to the rear of the unit.

As you make your way back around to the front, you will see KZ added a storage tray for the generator which is consistent with the thought that everything has its place in the MXT.

The kitchen areas differ a little in each unit but all have full size refrigerators, three-burner stoves and large dual-bowl sinks. There are also plenty of cabinets for storage and the larger units have great counter space available. KZ also added bar stools to allow extra eating area for a quick bite before a long ride.

If audio/video is important to you, then you will certainly not be disappointed in the Sport Package 2 option. This will get you a Rockford AM/FM/CD/DVD player, a four-channel amp, both indoor and outdoor speakers, and a 10-in. sub. The video comes via a 19-in. LCD TV. This package also has marine-grade controls on the outside of the trailer.

The MXT comes in nine different floor plans and a size range from 20 to 30 feet in length. The floor plans are also very innovative and allow you to pick a style that works for your particular situation. Several of the units come with a separate front bedroom while others have a fold-down bed forward in the rig which allows some additional loading space for the toys. Of course the rear electric beds are available for extra sleeping space. There are two different interior color schemes to choose from: “grey stone” or “lava” both of which look great. No matter which design you pick, all of the MXT’s come fully equipped to keep your family camping in style.

It’s clear that KZ is here to stay in the toyhauler market. They continue to develop their product lines to offer something for every family and every budget. While others in the industry are scaling back, KZ has the throttle pinned and continues to innovate. If you’re in need of a new home away from home, you owe it to yourself to take a look at the complete line of KZ toyhaulers. You can see them all at www.kz-rv.com.
