"Red" Makeover
It's amazing when I think about the past year, and how often we toyhaulin’ addicts are always on the go. From one weekend to the next, we frequently find ourselves getting ready for our next adventure and often with little time between trips.

Although my wife and I are currently lucky enough to store our fifth-wheel at home, we do however end up haulin’ several things into the house for cleaning. Whether it’s laundering our linen or that extra dirty pan through the dishwasher, unpacking and repacking can be overwhelming. Though most of us have realized having a separate set of household goods is nearly a necessity for your trailer, it certainly did not eliminate the inevitable: that moment we have all experienced, out in the middle of nowhere, “Honey, where is the. . . ?”

After the purchase of our last toyhauler, we set out to buy bed linens, bathroom accessories, and kitchen items the first weekend we got it home. As we walked around the store looking at sheets, towels, pillowcases, etc., I thought to myself, What if we simply bought different colored linens for the toyhauler than we used in the home? Red!—thus releasing our red obsession: to seek out anything and everything to outfit our hauler as long at it was red. At department stores, discount stores, even the grocery store, we found it became a sort of game, even to the point that our friends have joined in by picking up red items they knew we could use in the hauler.

Now, not everyone will take this obsession to the extreme we have. Keep in mind that such colorful items tend to be made of plastic and/or are only available at discount stores. So finding quality for the important things and having a bit of fun with color may become a challenge. As you imagined, not everything in our trailer allows us to follow our red obsession, so we don’t recommend losing quality for color. But we figure it might help keep a few things separate and maybe save a ruined weekend and even a marriage or two.

To date, we have found such items as red PlasticWare plates and bowls, cooking utensils, sheets, pillowcases, towels, rugs, dog beds, and even a red microwave and toaster. Okay, so we don’t expect to take the microwave in and out, but it made for a beautiful touch for under $100, when the factory one bit the dust. The list can go on and on. Start your own creation. You can take it as far as your imagination and budget will allow.
