When driving down the road you see lots of customized and lifted trucks. Then you wonder what makes one look better than the other? Is it the rim size, the height of the lift, the number of shocks or just simply the way it was put together? These are all important questions, so now you need to find some answers. Where do you find these answers: friends, people that own lifted trucks, or experts that sell and install the parts? The answer is all the above. The problem for most of us is finding someone that really knows the technical end and doesn’t just have an opinion. We end up going to a shop hoping that they are not just sales people and are real enthusiasts that pride themselves on getting your truck set up the way you want it. Well, SoCal Super Trucks is just such a place and they are located right here in Southern California.

We at ToyHauler Magazine have had lots of work done at SoCal Super Trucks and can personally attest to the quality of knowledge and competence of the crew that works there. I had the pleasure of talking to Casey Coughlin and I really respected his business philosophy when he said “I would rather educate a customer on why a certain product might work better than another product for their specific application even if it does take some time and effort in doing so. Our goal is to build a relationship with the customer and have them return each time they are looking into purchasing a product for their vehicle.”

Casey also said they pride themselves in offering customers quality products and unsurpassed knowledge of the products that they sell. With five full-time sales associates on the front counter answering phones and helping people in the showroom, there is always someone to answer your questions. There are also six experienced service technicians, so appointment lead times are kept to a minimum—usually two to three days in advance on most major jobs. They certainly have the equipment to get the job done correctly with a 2,500 square foot showroom and a service facility that has nine service bays including a state of the art brand new Hunter alignment system.

They are a wholesale distributor for top of the line suspension manufacturers such as CST, Donahoe Racing, Total Chaos, and Deaver Springs. They offer a wide line of products ranging from suspension lift & lowering systems, wheels and tires (big and small sizes), performance products (exhaust systems, computer upgrades, differential re-gearing/service, and air intakes/filters), towing accessories (hitches, ball mounts, airbags, and air supply systems), off-road & auxiliary lighting products and mounting systems, cargo products (tonneau covers, bed liners, etc.), convenience parts (running boards, steps, etc.), off-road components (body panels, safety harnesses, seats, etc.), cosmetic accessories (billet grills, door handles, etc.) and extensive fabrication.

SoCal SuperTrucks also has a web site that showcases vehicles that they have built with multiple photos and descriptions of each vehicle and what modifications were performed. This allows the customer to see what their vehicle could look like with similar products installed. Customer’s also get a kick out of showing their friends pictures of their trucks on the web site.

With the popularity of the Side-X-Sides lately SoCal UTV, which is a division of SoCal SuperTrucks, has been building UTV suspensions which includes long-travel suspension systems for the Yamaha Rhino and distribution of Walker Evans racing shock kits for the Yamaha Rhino, Arctic Cat Prowler, Polaris Rangers and Razors. The long-travel Rhino kit consists of everything you need to install, and features pre-assembled upper, lower, front, rear, six inch extended control arms, chromoly steering hardware, pre-assembled Gorilla brand axles and CVs, and Walker Evans 16-way adjustable coil over shocks and Eibach coil springs. They build the kit utilizing the highest quality components available and are able to separate themselves from the competition by offering all their product line through a nationwide dealer network. The kit was designed and packaged with the do-it-yourselfer in mind and offers detailed installation instructions along with phone-in technical support available.

If you don’t live in the Southern California area SoCal SuperTrucks ship products nationwide with next day and second day air available. So if you see something on their web site, www.socalsupertrucks.com, you can call them at 909-383-5454 to get any questions answered.
