Aero GearWagon 125
For a lot of people in today’s hard times, it is still important to get out and have some fun. So we are looking for ways to do this for less money. Not all of us can afford a full-size, three-quarter-ton or bigger pick-up plus a toyhauler. Even for those who can afford them, wouldn’t it be nice to get a trailer you could tow behind your car or mini-truck? Think of all the money you could save. It would make overnight and short weekend trips a lot simpler. Have you ever missed a trip because of the hassle factor of getting the big trailer ready? This might solve that problem for the quick trips.
There is a company out there that specializes in small lightweight trailers and cargo holders. This innovative company is called Let’s Go Aero and is located in Colorado Springs. Since 1999, the company has been designing and making products that help you carry more, efficiently. They have lots of hitch boxes and generator boxes that go into a hitch, but what I like is the small trailer that I could sleep in and would carry my dirt bikes or quad. So along came the GearWagon 125 - GearLodge Toyhauler Camper Edition.
Not to confuse you, but you can get a GearWagon 125, which is just an enclosed trailer, or the GearLodge which is a GearWagon 125 with a fully-featured camping package included. So we will be talking about the GearLodge which is an enclosed trailer that accommodates a single ATV, personal watercrafts, motorcycles, snowmobiles, dual dirt bikes, multiple bicycles or whatever else you can fit in 125 cubic feet of cargo space.
As an enclosed trailer, GearWagon 125 measures 93-inches in length by 60-inches wide by 51-inches high. Its twin-wall, rotationally molded, polyethylene base is extremely durable and easily withstands constant use and abuse with all manner of cargo. The trailer is equipped with 13-inch wheels and tires with a torsion axle that provides independent wheel suspension.
This trailer is very unique. It weighs less than 500 pounds empty with 1,000 pounds of carrying capacity. It pops up easily with two lift support shocks holding it open. You use the ramps to load the toys. It comes with an adjustable tie-down system to hold everything in place. The removable decking stores nicely on the inside of the trailer next to the toys and the tent material fits conveniently in storage bags. After you unload the toys, the decking fits into place and can be used as the bed flooring, leaving room underneath for storage. The marine grade tent material wraps all along the inside of the trailer, attaching it to Velcro strips on the top and a bungee-type strap around the lip on the bottom, making it waterproof. It has zipper screens that open for ventilation or seeing outside.
The first time setting up the trailer it takes a little time, but after doing it a couple times it gets much easier. The trailer does come with a complete set of instructions to help you with the set-up.
I think this little trailer would be great for many things: for a person without a pick-up but who has a hitch on their car; for a quick overnight trip that would be fun; for hooking up to your UTV and going deep into the mountains on a 4x4 trail for some time in the wilderness; for a day at the beach or river with a bunch of toys. The uses are endless. With a starting price for the GearLodge at under $4,000.00, it is affordable also.
