We have a Rage'N toy hauler and it is difficult for me to lift the ramp. The so called assist springs don't assist. I drilled a 3/8 inch hole on each side of the ramp about a foot below the top when it's closed. I hooked a 2,000 pound ATV winch to the forward center tie-down. I'm temporarily powering it with 20 foot jumper cables from the forward batteries. To start the ramp up I have a center post made from one inch galvanized conduit placed at the center.

Press a button with one finger and up she goes. It works. I'll fine tune it and take photos.

I'll lower the ramp this afternoon and take pics. Then to figure out how to post on this forum.

First attempt. This pic is of a folding ramp for wheel chairs. The Rage'N has a 30 inch wide entrance door. (Well, that didn't work.)

I discontinued the center post method. I mounted the winch permanently to the inside sidewall and fastened two pulleys to the wall. The forward pulley is bolted to the forward bunk mount. The rear pulley is mounted to the rear mount which is welded to the ramp frame. I'm still using jumper cables temporarily, but will hard wire it when I get the time. Press a button and the ramp goes up. No rigging of chains and posts.
