2009 Poles and Holders
have been doing the Glamis and Desert thing for many years and have always been a big believer in making your camp viewable from a distance. With all the white trailers out there, a lot of them look the same from afar--especially important if you have some newbie’s with you. I have seen a lot of ways to do this over the years, but the easiest and probably the least expensive is to invest in a flagpole and holder with your choice of flags on top.

There is a company out there that has been putting many years of research into finding various ways to fly your colors when you are toyhauling or RV-ing. The company is Poles and Holders, which is family owned and operated by an RV-er. They are now in their ninth year of supplying the RV industry with their products. If you go to the dunes, the desert or to NASCAR races, a major percentage of the flags, poles and holders you see flying were supplied by Poles and Holders.

Corky King, the man in charge, is a down-to-earth guy who believes in taking care of his clientele. He is always listening to his customers about things they want to see. Not only does he offer 16- foot or 22-foot heavy-duty fiberglass poles, he also has 23 styles and sizes of mounts in stock to meet most applications. If there is something special you want, he now offers you the option of getting a custom flag or pole mount made. All you have to do is supply him with your design. The mounts are powder coated, are manufactured in- house and come with a lifetime warranty. Corky informed me that he will have even more new mounts coming in the spring. The Ramp mount has three mounting tabs for increased strength (a Poles and Holders exclusive). All mounting hardware is included.

Poles and Holders also offers different styles of camp markers and lighting accessories. They have Night Blaster LED lights that go on top of the flagpoles, rope lights, strobe lights and rotating LED beacon lights. The Night Blaster light is available with different color options and runs on 12-volt power with less then ¼ amp draw. You no longer have to worry about killing your batteries. The newest addition is a solar powered string of multicolored LED lights that can be set to either flash or be on solidly. They have a sensor that turns the lights on at dark and off at dawn with the solar panel having the option of sliding into the top of the flagpole. There is nothing cooler than looking at your camp at night from afar and seeing it all lit up--plus it makes it a lot easier for people to locate your camp or to help you find your way home from the night ride.

Poles and Holders now have their manufacturing/warehouse and showroom available for your viewing pleasure. Corky says to stop by and say hi, at 9970 Bells Ranch Dr. #105, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670. You can also call them at (562) 946-9019.

Remember, always check their Web site www.polesandholders.com to see what they have that is new and exciting. Keep in mind they add new accessories all the time, so check back regularly.
