Shurflo, the leading supplier of water pumps to the RV industry has developed a new, higher-pressure water pump for your RV. Usually reserved for the larger RVs, the SHURflo Extreme Series Smart Sensor 5.7, pumps out an unbelievable 5.7 gallons per minute at 65 PSI. That means you can finally take a shower that really gets the mud off! This almost doubles the output from your stock pump (also probably a Shurflo). Bitten by the technology bug the R&D guys at Shurflo were able to develop this low amp draw pump with some very cool features. First you will notice it's very quiet. You are able to run multiple faucets with no drop in pressure and the pump does not continually "cycle" when the switch is left on. And now you have 65 PSI for that new pressure washer that your rig came with. Remember a pressure washer, shower or any other accessory can only use the water it can get, so adding a larger pump such as this will only help these products work better. This was all good stuff, but the true test was going to be using the shower. Let's face it, now that we can take a hot shower, having good pressure is a must. So we did the install of our new pump as you can see here. It was really very easy. The Shurflo pump came with easy to follow instructions and all the fittings matched right up. We only had two wires (red and black) to connect. We decided to add a strainer at this time. The original pump did not have one, but like any filter, it's a good idea to have one. As you can see the new pump was about double the size, so you will have to make sure the new pump fits in the old space. SHURflo has designed the pump to work within the parameters of all OEM builders.



With all of our fittings tight and wires connected it was time to start the pump. We hit the switch, the pump primed itself and it was ready to use.

The difference was like night and day. Before you could take a shower, but you kind of had to "work it" to get the mud off. Now mud, shampoo and soap just wash right off. This should work great for those with longer hair as well. NICE!
