There are a lot of campgrounds around Sturgis, so you have your choice of where to camp. All of the campgrounds have their own benefits. Some are far away from the crowds, others are closer to the good riding and then there are those who are in the heart of the party. We chose Glencoe CampResort, right behind Thunder Road. On Thunder Road we found Orange County Choppers, Arlen Ness, Rick Fairless, Gulf Stream, Featherlite and many more high profile exhibitors. Located right across the road is one of the areas hot spots, the Full Throttle Saloon, which has live concerts every night. You could say we were right in the heart of things. One of the other big camp/party sites is Buffalo Chip Campground, which is just a couple miles away. I liked being close to the action, the only problem is that it takes awhile to get back to town. It is only 2.5 miles away, but you have lots of traffic to deal with. Once you got through the gridlock it is smooth sailing the rest of the way.

We woke up Wednesday morning just ready to ride. So we got our motorcycles and headed out. Finally, the part that I have been looking forward to for years — riding my motorcycle around the Black Hills of South Dakota!! I have heard the stories for years and it was finally my turn. YES I WAS EXCITED!!!! ...
